About Us
Unlike other financial institutions, which are governed by and responsible to stock holders, a credit union is owned by and responsible to it’s members. It’s motive is not for profit, but service and return to it’s members. The credit union concept was developed in the 1800’s in Germany and eventually found its way to our country in the early 1900’s.Our Board of Directors are elected from our membership and serve in a volunteer capacity. This is but one example of how a credit union differs from other financial institutions.
